Businesses Must Assess Readiness for SaaS, Cloud-based Services

With the evolution of cloud computing, small and mid-sized businesses have a number of factors related to cost, privacy, security and scalability to consider when evaluating any software as a service (SaaS) strategy or cloud computing solutions. If a business is ready, then embracing the cloud can simplify how the business receives software and in turn improve its finances and ability to compete, argued SmartCompany writer David Hancock.

Mid-sized enterprises in particular are steadily migrating to cloud services, according to an Evolve IP survey cited by Mesco contributor Russell Dickinson. The study stated that the average mid-market enterprise had deployed 2.5 cloud services, and that despite some reticence from self-described “unconvinced” and “undecided” respondents, nearly 75 percent of all respondents planned to deploy additional cloud-based services by 2016…”
